I saw Blink 182 live yesterday.

Went to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul with Morgan, Mikala, her little brother Eric, and his friend CJ. Opening band was called "Chester French." I'd never heard of them before, turned out to be some generic electro-dance rock shit. Not for me.
Then came Panic at the Disco. I really don't like this band either, but they had decent enough stage presence so I wasn't bored out of my skull.
Up next was Fall Out Boy. Now, I only like a few of their older songs, but they were surprisingly really sweet in person. I still don't really like their music, but they put on a very good live show.

Then, on came Blink 182. For a point of reference here, I've been listening to this band since I was around 12 years old. If it weren't for them, I'd probably still be listening to shitty nu-metal and ICP. Basically, this band means a fucking lot to me.
They opened with Dumpweed (probably one of my favorite songs) and powered out 3 more jams before they even started stage banter. Tom was obviously shitty drunk, burping during songs and replacing lyrics about Mark being gay with his dad. Pretty much how I wanted it to be. They fucked around and played some stuff off of the self-titled album (I like it, whatever) before going back and playing the classics. (Josie, Don't Leave Me, etc)

After a short intermission, Travis pulled off this insanely wicked drum solo, all while flying around the stage on a rotating platform. Words can't explain it, but this video can:


After that, they finished the set off with Carousel and Dammit. Perfect way to end the night. I've been to a lot of shows and seen a lot of really good bands, but this blew the top off of all of them. Easily the best concert experience I'll have for very long time.
